Liastres is a family-run Greek restaurant in Stoupa, on Tampoureas street a few steps from Stoupa beach. Open for lunch and dinner through the season, it serves the traditional cooking of the Mani coast at honest prices, with a terrace that looks straight out to the sea.

Rooted in the culinary traditions of the Mani region, our dishes are prepared with high-quality, seasonal ingredients,many sourced from local farms and the surrounding sea. From slow-cooked meats and fresh seafood to classic Greek favorites like moussaka, stuffed vegetables, and handmade pies, each plate reflects the rich flavors and warmth of Greek cuisine.
Vegetarian options and fresh salads made with sun-ripened produce are also available, along with a thoughtfully selected list of local wines and spirits. At Liastres, every meal is crafted with care, offering a true taste of Stoupa in every bite.
If you are looking for a restaurant in Stoupa that locals also choose, Liastres is the taverna on the seafront where Mani cooking is done the slow way. Expect syglino (smoked pork), lalagia (fried dough ribbons), goat in the oven, fresh fish from the Messenian gulf and vegetables from the gardens above the village. Portions are made for sharing, and the wine list is local, from Messenia and the wider Peloponnese.
We are open daily for lunch and dinner from spring to late autumn. Tables on the terrace go quickly at sunset, so book a table for dinner in July and August. Before or after your meal, Enigma, our cafe and cocktail bar, is 40 metres down the same street for coffee in the morning or a cocktail at sunset.
